Two People Killed in High Speed Crash

Houston car accident lawyers know that many motorists like to drive fast—it is fun and there is a feeling of freedom that many drivers associate with driving fast. Unfortunately, as fun as driving fast may be, it greatly increases the probability of losing control of your vehicle, ultimately ending in an accident.

Speed limits are put in place after extensive research to determine what rate of speed will be safe for multiple cars on the road at any given time, with drivers of varying degrees of experience. Drivers during the late night/early morning hours often think that they are safe to speed because fewer vehicles are on the road. But speeding also decreases your ability to control your vehicle, as well as limits the amount of time you have to react should something go wrong.

In West Houston on early Sunday morning, two people were killed in a single-vehicle accident. According to Houston police, a man on South Berin Road near Doliver was driving at a high rate of speed at about 2:30 a.m. It appeared that the man lost control of the vehicle, and he drove up onto the curb on the right side of the road, then smashed into a light pole and finally crashed into a brick fence in front of a housing complex. The driver and the female passenger in the vehicle were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
