Police were led on a chase in Southwest Houston late Tuesday evening that ended in a crash. A Houston Police Department unit saw a car that was missing license plates on Beechnut Club Creek road at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. The HPD officers flagged the car, attempting to pull it over, but the driver refused to stop.
According to police, the car sped off Eastbound on Beechnut, and then veered into the oncoming lanes of traffic. The car proceeded to drive on the wrong side of the road for several block all the way to Bonhomme where the car then tried to cross back over the median and into the correct lane of traffic. Unfortunately, the car was going too fast to complete this maneuver, lost control, hit the curb, skidded sideways, hitting a parked car and ultimately flipped over in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
The driver and passenger of the wrecked vehicle both got out of the car and fled the scene on foot—further trying to evade police. Houston Police officers caught one of the suspects nearby at an apartment complex on Fonvilla and Fondren, but the other suspect is still missing.
