Chain Reaction Hit and Run Causes Woman to Crash into Car Dealership

by EmilyGray on October 20, 2011

Houston car accident lawyers see all kinds of motor vehicle accidents, and know that are sometimes the result of an odd combination of circumstances. A hit and run driver caused a woman to crash into a car dealership in southwest Houston early on Thursday morning, leave some question as to who is at fault for the damage.

The incident occurred at about 2:45 a.m. on the Southwest Freeway near Clarewood. A woman was driving in the southbound lanes on the freeway when she was struck from behind by another vehicle.

The collision caused the woman, who was driving a Lexus, to lose control of her vehicle. As a result, she ran off the freeway and across the feeder road. She then crashed into the Allen Samuel car dealership, damaging four vehicles that were on the lot. The impact of the crash damaged three cargo vans and one Sport Utility Vehicle at the dealership.

The woman, whose name has not yet been released was extracted from her crushed vehicle and taken to the nearby Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital, She is reported to be in stable condition. Police are still searching for the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle that struck the Lexus, causing the larger scale crash. If you witnessed the accident, or have any information on the fleeing driver, please contact the Houston Police Department immediately.
