4 Killed in Drunk Driving Accident

by EmilyGray on August 22, 2011

Despite how common drunk driving accidents are, Houston car accident attorneys are still stunned and upset every time they occur—especially when the damage is so extensive. Accidents caused by drunk drivers are among the most tragic because they are so utterly preventable.

Early Sunday morning in Brehnham, Texas, 4 people were killed as a result of a suspected drunk driving accident. The accident involved two vehicles and occurred about 65 miles northwest of Houston.

A 19 year old teenager is the driver that caused the accident. Roberto Castillo was driving a pickup truck that allegedly slammed into the car that was occupied by the four victims. They died at the scene and their names have not yet been released.

Police and investigators say that Castillo ran from the scene of the accident, but was later caught. He was then taken to the Washington County Jail and being held on four counts of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. The total bond was set at $2 million, or $500,000 per victim.

Car accidents and drunk driving accidents are often extremely damaging and often fatal for some of the people involved—but this one was particularly horrific. All of the people in the car that was hit were killed, meaning that Castillo managed to do a catastrophic amount of damage in a short period of time.
